Laya Frances Brock
Laya Frances Brock, age 85 of Greenville, Ohio passed away on Wednesday
November 16, 2011 at 1:50 PM at Wayne Healthcare, Greenville,
Ohio. She was born January 31, 1926 in Cleveland, Ohio the
daughter of the late Nasry & Isabelle (Khoury) Shamaly. She
was a homemaker.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of
Greenville and the Rosary Altar Society of the Church. She had
been a very active volunteer for the Darke County Meals on Wheels.
She is preceded in death by her parents;
Sister: Joy Mallis.
She is survived by her daughters & son in
law: Karen McCoy of Catonsville, Maryland, Sharon Schmidt of
Kenosha, Wisconsin, Susan & Mark Maitlen of Greenville;
Grandchildren & spouses: Kevin & Anne McCoy, Benjamin
& Lisa Schmidt, Kristopher Schmidt, Jennifer & Brian Baker,
Sara Maitlen, & Jason Maitlen; 3 Great Grandchildren;
Brother: Richard M. Shamaly of Fairfax, Virginia; Sister:
Audrey Schindly of Wickliffe, Ohio.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday
November 21, 2011 at 11:30 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church 233 West
Third Street, Greenville, Ohio with Rev. Fr. John White
Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Monday at Zechar
Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio. Memorial contributions may
be given to the American Heart Association.
