Manford “Mick” Smith
Jr.
Manford “Mick” Smith Jr. age 68 of Greenville, Ohio, went home to be
with the Lord at 12:02 A.M. on Friday, November 11, 2011 at Good
Samaritan Hospital in Dayton. Mick was born May 14, 1943 in Richmond,
Indiana, to the late Manford Sr. & Thelma (Gilliland) Smith.
Mick retired from Evenflo in Piqua. He was a member of Castine Church
of the Brethren.
In addition to his parents, Mick is also preceded in death by a
brother, James Smith.
Mick is survived by his wife, Marian (Combs) Smith whom he married on
September 26, 1992; daughter & son-in-law, Ashley (Smith) &
Justin Herth of Greenville; step daughters, Tracie Fickert of
Hollansburg and Vickie Mikesell of New Madison; granddaughters,
Madeline Herth and Addison Herth; step grandchildren, Derrick Mikesell,
Erica Mikesell, J.R. Fickert and Rachel Fickert; and also an additional
son and two daughters.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, November 15,
2011 at Castine Church of the Brethren 624 US Rt. 127 South Arcanum
with Pastor Greg Hyre officiating. Burial will follow in Hollansburg
Cemetery in Hollansburg. The family will receive friends on Monday from
5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to
Castine Church of the Brethren or the Darke County Cancer Association.
