Gary C. Kimmel
Gary C. Kimmel age 96 of Versailles, Ohio, passed away at 7:30 P.M. on
Sunday, October 16, 2011 at Versailles Health Care Center. Gary was
born September 7, 1915 in Darke County, Ohio, to the late John C. &
Lula (Gunn) Kimmel.
Gary was a farmer and formerly owned and operated
Kimmel Trucking in Versailles. Gary served in the U.S. Army Air Corps
during WWII.
In addition to his parents, Gary is also preceded in
death by his wife, Edith R. (Bellinger) Kimmel on January 25, 1989 whom
he married on January 21, 1945; brother, Wallace Kimmel; sisters, Ruth
Preston, Clarabelle Laub, Velma Wolfe and Naomi Hemmerich; and two
infant sisters.
Gary is survived by a son & daughter-in-law,
Barry & Donna Kimmel of Versailles; daughters & sons-in-law,
Carole & Carl Teeter of Union City, Ohio, Diane Kimmel of
Versailles, Susan & Rob Allread of Fairfield and Jackie & Brett
Musser of Tipp City; grandchildren, Michelle & Kevin Reier, Lisa
Malone, Travis Allread, Nikki Allread, Justin & Jamie Musser, Shaye
Musser and G.C. & Andrea Kimmel; great grandchildren, Josh Kimmel,
Kyle Reier, Kendra Reier, Cianna Betts and Olyvia Malone; and numerous
nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on
Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles
with Pastor Dennis Wheeler officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn
Cemetery in Versailles. The family will receive friends on Wednesday
from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Military graveside services
will be conducted by the Versailles Veteran’s Honor Guard. Memorial
contributions may be made to Versailles Emergency Medical Services in
