Stewart H. Menke
Stewart H. Menke, 82, of Gettysburg, Ohio passed away after a lengthy
illness on October 15 at Wayne HealthCare Hospital.
Mr. Menke is survived by his wife of 60 years, Elizabeth “Betty” Menke,
and four children: Michael (Joan) Menke of Tucson, Arizona, Thomas
(Barbara) of Greenville, Susan North (Dan) of Greenville, and Sheryl
Hannah of Hamilton. He was wise and loving grandfather to eight, and
great-grandfather to twelve.
Mr. Menke was preceded in death by his father Chester Hume Menke and
his mother Virginia Meeker Crawford Menke, both of Greenville. Also he
was preceded in death by his sister Alice Jean Menke Lieberenz of
Elkhart, Indiana, and his brother Richard Menke of Dayton, Ohio.
Services will be held at Oakland Church of the Brethren north of
Gettysburg, Ohio at 10 AM on Saturday October 22, 2011, with visitation
at 9 AM. Stewart was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will
be missed.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Darke County Humane Society
in his memory.
