Irene F. Whittaker

Irene F. Whittaker, 75, of Greenville, passed away Wednesday afternoon, October 12, 2011 at the Life Care Hospitals of Dayton.
 
She was born March 15, 1936 in Muncie, IN, daughter of the late Marvin and Helen (Moore) Eley. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her twin sister, Ilene VanDeGrift.
 
A homemaker, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Greenville.
 
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Marion L. Whittaker, whom she married September 13, 1954; children, Tony (Teresa) Whittaker of Elburn, IL, Cathy (Don) Kowaleski of Springboro, OH, and Suzanne (Bud) Williams of Tipp City; grandchildren, Lauren and Tommy Whittaker, Matthew Kowaleski, Samantha Williams, and Jessica Williams; and sisters, Phyllis (Tim) Barga of Greenville, Wanda (Richard) Burke of Ansonia, and Pamela (John) Snyder of Ansonia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
 
Services will be held Monday, October 17 at 2 p.m. at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Joe Payne officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Cemetery.
 
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 2-5 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to the First United Methodist Church.
