Arthur "Sonny" Shipp
Arthur “Sonny” Shipp, 79 of Greenville, Ohio passed away on Saturday
October 27, 2012 at 10:10 AM at the Brethren Retirement
Community. He was born February 22, 1933 in Princeton, Illinois
the son of the late Arthur & Selma (Nordstrom) Shipp. He
married Mary Beachy on March 5, 1960 in Creston, Ohio. He worked
for Gene Reigle for a number of years.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters: Sheryl (Tom) Ailes,
Robin (Bob) Grice; sons: Eric Shipp, Shawn (Kristen) Shipp; 16
grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; sisters: JoAnne Johnson
of Sheffield, Illinois, & Dorothy Dutcher of Battle Creek,
Michigan; & numerous nieces & nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; half brothers: Roger Pierson,
Ray Pierson, Richard Pierson; brother: Gordon Shipp; sister: Marge
Corman; grandson: Jeff Spille.
A Private Graveside service will be held at the convenience of the
family at Greenville Township Memorial Gardens. There will be no
visitation. Arrangements are being handled by Zechar Bailey
Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio. In Lieu of flowers memorial
contributions may be given to the Brethren Retirement Community, State
of the Heart Hospice, or the Darke County Harness Horseman Association.
