"Catty" Holmes
Velma Cathleen “Catty” Holmes, 88 of Greenville, Ohio passed away on
Saturday April 6, 2013 at 11:58 PM at Wayne Healthcare. She was
born January 31, 1925 in Tucker County, West Virginia the daughter of
the late Howard & Carrie (Shaffer) Price. She was a cabinet
maker at Delmar in Union City retiring in 1986. She also was
active in various charities donating to them and helping them with
phone calls. She was a member of Savonna Church and attended
Hollansburg Christian Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents; Husband: Harold W.
Holmes on November 24, 2012; Son: Marion Holmes; Sisters:
Belva Poling, Geraldine Shriver, & Vauda Paul.
She is survived by her daughter: Marcia Garland of Greenville; 3
step grandchildren; 8 step great grandchildren; 4 step great great
grandchildren; numerous nieces & nephews.
Services will be held on Thursday April 11, 2013 at 10:30 AM at Zechar
Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Joe Hanna
officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Fort
Jefferson, Ohio. Family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00
PM on Wednesday April 10, 2013 at the funeral home.
