Lloyd J. Harpest

Lloyd J. Harpest, age 99 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 3:36 A.M. Sunday December 8, 2013 at Sunrise of Lincoln Park Chicago. Illinois.
 
Lloyd was born December 6, 1914 in Darke County Ohio and the son of the late Clarence and Vera (Hern) Harpest. 

He was a retired dairy farmer and a lifelong member of the Oakland Church of the Brethren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Mary Esther (Fasnacht) Harpest May 22, 1976; second wife Mary L. (Oakes) “Lutz” Harpest March 8, 2012; brothers Russel Harpest and Harold Harpest; sisters Melba Rice and Ruth Schlechty.

Lloyd is survived by a son Will Harpest of Chicago, Ill., daughters and son in law Naomi Harpest of Aurora, Ill. and Janice and Richard Priggie of Moline, Ill., step sons and their spouses David and Irene Lutz of Roanoke, Ind. and Dennis and Farideh Lutz of Longmont, CO; grandchildren David Harpest, Julie (Drew) Collins, Laura (Max Brueggermeyer) Studebaker, Christina Studebaker, Katherine Priggie, Daniel Priggie and David Priggie; step grandchildren  David Michael (Michelle) Lutz , Andrew Dennis (Mia) Lutz, Joni Lutz and Jeff (Kelly)Lutz;  great grandchildren Kaitlyn, Nathanael, Gabriel and 11 step great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday December 14, 2013 in the Oakland Church of the Brethren 8058 Horatio Harris Creek Road Bradford, Ohio with Pastor John Sgro officiating.  Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Friday December 13, 2013 from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio.

It is the wishes of the family that Memorial Contributions be given to the Oakland Church of the Brethren 8058 Horatio Harris Creek Road Bradford, Ohio or Heifer International at www.heifer.org.
