Clara C. Paulus
Clara C. Paulus, age 93, of Versailles, Ohio, passed away on Sunday,
June 16, 2013 at 3:00 AM at Versailles Health Care Center, Versailles,
Ohio. She was born on March 21, 1920 in Coldwater, Ohio, to the
late Joseph & Elenora (Schock) Sutter.
She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Jan & Ralph
Gigandet of Versailles, Ohio; son Jeff Paulus of Columbus, Ohio;
grandchildren, Keri (Charen) Kingrey, Chris (Sandy) Gigandet, Susan
(Aaron) Bergman all of Versailles and Dana (Jill) Paulus of Columbus;
great grandchildren, Mandi Kingrey and fiancé Curtis Riegle, Katelyn
Kingrey, Lindsey, Kyle and Tyler Gigandet, Ayden Lane and Stella
Bergman of Versailles and Maynard Paulus of Columbus; sister, Mary Etta
Eyink and brother Zeno “Bud” Sutter.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband,
Charles Paulus whom she married on June 22, 1950; sisters, Mildred
Sutter and Len Hartings; brothers, Ralph and Joe Sutter.
Clara was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church, sang in the church
choir and a member of Daughters of Isabella. She worked at the
bank in Coldwater for 40 years and then Buckeye Overall. She
enjoyed reading books, ballroom dancing, weekly outings with friends,
shopping & lunch with friends, bowling where she was the secretary
of the league, playing cards once a week, and spending time with her
grandchildren and great grandchildren.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Wednesday, June 19,
2013 at 10:30 AM at St. Denis Catholic Church, Versailles, Ohio, with
Rev. Fr. David Vincent celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. Valbert
Cemetery, Versailles, Ohio. Family will receive friends on
Tuesday, June 18, 2013 from 5-7 PM as well as from 9-10 am on Wednesday
at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home, Versailles, Ohio.
It is the wishes of the family that memorial contributions be given to
State of the Heart Hospice or Versailles Emergency Medical Services.
