Lloyd D. Grimes
Lloyd D. Grimes, 95 of Greenville, Ohio passed away on Wednesday
November 6, 2013 at 6:45 AM at Village Green Nursing Home, Greenville,
Ohio. He was born June 23, 1918 in Darke County, Ohio the son of
the late Roll Franklin & Dakota (Henry) Grimes. He was a
farmer. He served in the United States Army in World War II.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Wife: Betty L.
(Livingston) Grimes on May 10, 2001 whom he married October 11, 1941; 2
great grandchildren; Brothers: David, Herman, Robert, James,
& Roll Grimes Jr.; Sisters: Leona Gessler, Betty Fudge, Anna
Mikesell, Esther Moffitt, Marjorie Freymuth & an infant sister.
He is survived by his sons & daughters in law: Gayle &
Sherry Grimes of Canal Winchester, Ohio, Larry & Janet Grimes of
Union City, Indiana, & Dan Grimes & Darci Richards of
Greenville; daughter: Nancy Miller of Greenville; 14
grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; brother: John Grimes of
Union City, Ohio,; sisters: Phyllis Hampshire of Winchester,
Indiana, Ida Mae Girton of Union City, Indiana; numerous nieces &
nephews.
Services will be held Saturday November 9, 2013 at 9:00 AM at Zechar
Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Eric Knight
officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Township Memorial
Gardens. Family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 Pm on
Friday November 8, 2013 at the funeral home. Veteran’s graveside
services will be conducted by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard.
