Belva Opal Arens Teaford

Belva Opal Arens Teaford, age 98, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at 3:23 PM at Heartland of Piqua, Piqua, Ohio.  She was born on May 19, 1915 in Parsons, W.V. to the late Cyrus Samuel Upton & Nancy Olive Harsh.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her first husband William R. “Bill” Arens; second husband Reno Teaford; daughter Nancy Isabel Parker; sister Nellie Arnett; brother Cyrus Upton; and sister Mary Frances Upton.

She is survived by her granddaughter Mary Belva and husband Shaun; grandson Arthur B. “Artie” Parker III and wife Jessica; great grandchildren, Jenna Lynn, Corryn Sue, twins Julia Isabel and Jack Parker.

Belva was the Chaplin and Secretary for Darke County Republican Women's Club, Republican Women of the Year, Member of Darke County Board of Visitors, Darke County Election Official, Girl Scout Leader, and Member of Choralettes of Greenville area as well as playing Mrs. Claus with her husband Bill to the wonderful people of the Greenville area.  She was a homemaker, seamstress, and also worked at JC Penny's.

There will be a service held on Monday, September 16, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, with Rev. Doug Upton officiating.  Burial will follow in the Greenville Cemetery, Greenville, Ohio.  Family will receive friends on Monday from 10-11 at the funeral home.

It is the wishes of the family that memorial contributions be given to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or Miami County Hospice.
