Alberta Mae Karns
Alberta Mae Karns, age 73 of Union City, Ohio passed away at 1:30 A.M.
Monday, February 24, 2014 at the Heartland of Greenville. Alberta
was born August 5, 1940 in Preble County, Ohio to the late Harmon and
Esther (Martin) Richards.
Alberta was a self-employed Licensed Practical Nurse with a home health
care practice in the Darke and Miami County area.
Alberta was a member of the Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church in
Muncie, Indiana and a 1958 graduate of Jackson High School in Preble
County Ohio.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband
Forest Karns and a sister Sylvia Cole.
Alberta is survived by her children, Alicia Green of Florida, Harmon
George of Greenville and Sarena & Keith Simpson of West Milton;
grandchildren, Rachel Clark, Kasey Parlet, Brandon Green and Justice
Green; great-grandchild, Stella Parlet; 3 step children; many step
grandchildren; brothers, Harold Richards of Muncie, Indiana and Darrell
Richards of Mesa, Arizona; sisters, Lula Murray of Indianapolis,
Indiana and Cecelia Lewellen of Centerville, Indiana; and numerous
nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, March 3, 2014
at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio with Rev. Kevin Holt
officiating. Burial will follow in the Goshen Cemetery (near
Richmond, Indiana). The family will receive friends on Monday
from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. It is the wishes of the
family that Memorial Contributions be given to State of the Heart
