Larry L. Calvert Sr.
Larry L. Calvert Sr., age 75 of Eaton, Ohio and formerly of Greenville
passed away at 12:24 P.M. Wednesday January 22, 2014 at Hospice of
Dayton. Larry was born November 28, 1938 in Greenville, Ohio and
the son of the late Ora May (Nestor) Calvert.
Larry retired in 1977 from the U. S. Air Force after 20 years of
services, in 1987 from Fram Corp. of Greenville and later in 1993 from
U.S. Airways.
He was a Life Member of the Greenville American Legion and V.F.W.; a
member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Greenville and a member of
the Knights of Columbus.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his first wife
Winifred B. (Ballard) Calvert May 29, 1989; sisters Helen Dunn, Violet
Cochran and Lucille McNutt; brothers Carl Calvert and George Calvert.
Larry is survived by his wife Kathy Calvert of Eaton, Ohio. Also
daughter and son in law Denise and Jeffrey Addis of Greenville; son and
daughter in law Larry L. & Rosemary Ann Calvert Jr. of Greenville;
step sons Scott Ewen of Columbus, Indiana and Brain Ewen of
Indianapolis, Indian; step daughter Debbie Bond of Richmond, Indiana; 3
grandchildren; 8 step grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 9 step
great grandchildren; sisters Doris Starnes of Greenville and Norma
Penny of Ft. Jefferson as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday January 28, 2014 in
the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Lowell
Spencer officiating. Burial will full Military Honors conducted
by the Preble County Honor Guard will be held in the St. Mary’s
Catholic Church Cemetery Greenville, Ohio. The family will
receive friends on Tuesday 1 hour prior to the services in the funeral
home.
It is the wishes of the family in lieu of flowers Memorial
Contributions may be given to the Cancer Association of Darke County.
