John Everett Hipshire

John Everett Hipshire, 78 of Union City, OH went to be with the Lord after a brief illness at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton, OH.
 
John was born in Grainger County, TN on April 9, 1935, a son of the late Everett and Ada (Simmons) Hipshire.
 
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Francis Smith & Lucille Ballinger, one brother, Richard (Dick) Hipshire and two granddaughters, Jamie (Hipshire) Johnston and Casey Hipshire.
 
John has left behind his wife of 60 years, Peggy Hipshire, 7 children, Johnny "Alvin" (Pam) Hipshire, Pamela (Ben) Lux, Clarence (Nancy) Hipshire, Adina Hipshire, Laura (the late David) Bartlett, Joe (Elsie) Hipshire and Jeff (the late Ingrid) Hipshire.  He was also blessed with 21 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandson.
 
John spent his years working for Tipp Top Canning Company in Tipp City and managing his own Oakleaf Trucking Company where he made many friends throughout the years.
 
Friends are invited to call Friday, January 10, 2014 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home at 1000 N. Broadway, Greenville, OH 45331.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am, Saturday January 11, 2014 at the funeral home with Pastor Gary Boggs officiating.  Burial will follow in the Greenville Cemetery.
 
Memorials may be given to the family in care of the funeral home.
