John C. Brumbaugh

John C. Brumbaugh, 83 of Greenville, Ohio passed away on Monday June 16, 2014 at 11:27 AM at Good Samaritan Hospital, Dayton, Ohio.  He was born July 4, 1930 in Greenville, Ohio the son of the late Jesse K. & Edna (Dickes) Brumbaugh.
   
Since his retirement he was active in the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard and volunteered at Darke County Parks.
   
He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the C.I.C.( Counter Intelligence Corp) for the U.S. Army;  He was a member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church of Greenville; member /Past Commander of the V.F.W.; member of the American Legion, Elks Lodge all of Greenville; he was a Graduate of Greenville High School; University of Michigan; University of Cincinnati College of Law; member/past Master of Greenville Masonic Lodge; past President of Greenville Bar Association; past President of Greenville Board of Realtors; Realtor of the Year in 1986; he was the 1st Chairman of the Administrative Board of the EUM Church; 1975-1976 he was Meet Director for National YMCA Swimming and Diving Championships in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
   
He is preceded in death by his parents; Brother:  Philip D. Brumbaugh; Daughter:  Jean B. Kelly.
   
He is survived by his wife:  Vanis (Lephart) Brumbaugh of Greenville whom he married June 23, 1956; son:  Steven (Melissa) Brumbaugh of Burlingame, California; daughter:  Ann (Ed) Lantis of Cicero, Indiana; son in law:  Bill Kelly of Greenville; grandchildren:  Karen (Ron) K’ Miller, Kristin Manning, Rowdy Lantis, Sam Brumbaugh, Sarah Brumbaugh; great grandchildren:  Chamber & Connor Manning, Jackson & Ava K’Miller; & numerous nieces & nephews.
   
A memorial service will be held on Monday June 23, 2014 at 10:30 AM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio with Rev. John McRoberts and Pastor Sylvia McKibben officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenville Cemetery.  Family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Sunday June 22, 2014 at the funeral home.  Veteran’s graveside services will be conducted by the Greenville Veteran’s Honor Guard.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Greenville Veteran’s honor Guard or the Darke County Parks.
