Lee Elsass

Lee Elsass, age 80 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 7:10 P.M. Thursday March 27, 2014 at the Miami Valley Hospital Dayton, Ohio.  He was born June 1, 1933 in Clarksville, Ohio and the son of the late Harry John and Ava Della (Bagford) Elsass.
   
Lee was retired following a 33 year career as an Elementary School Principal and teacher.  He also had served in the military during peacetime, a member of the St. John Lutheran Church, Elk’s Lodge and a Lifetime member of the Optimist Club, all of Greenville and a member of the Ohio and Darke County Retired Teachers Association.
   
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Barbara (Wilt) Elsass October 5, 2013.  They were married August 25, 1957.
   
Lee is survived by his children Lorri (Jeff) Shoop of Greenville, Larry Elsass of Margate, Florida and Lowell Elsass of Greenville; grandchildren Krystin, Lyndsey and Conner Elsass, Dirk Shoop; great grandchildren Lexi and Lucas Shoop; sister Helen Burden of Sidney, Ohio and numerous nieces and nephews.
   
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday April 4, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the St. John Lutheran Church 7418 State Route 121-N. Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Patti Morlock officiating.  Private burial will be held in the St. John Church Cemetery.  The will be no public visitation.

It is the wishes of the family that Memorial Contributions be given to St. John Lutheran Church of Greenville, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society 4440 Lake Forest Dr., Suite 120 Cincinnati, Ohio 45242, or the Cancer Association of Darke County.
