Carl H. "Chicken Man" Wooten

Carl H. “Chicken Man” Wooten age 84, of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 1:20 P.M. on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at Heartland of Greenville. Carl was born June 25, 1929 in Gallipolis, Ohio to the late Robert & Orpha (Hall) Wooten.
   
Carl is survived by his wife, Anna Jean (Smith) Wooten whom he married January 22, 1977; children, Carol & Bob Robinson of Springboro, Deborah & Ralph Lowe of West Carrollton and David & Debbie Wooten of Dayton; step children, Jeffrey Barger of Greenville and Lisa Durbin of Greenville; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Clara Mae McCammon of Columbus and Lucille Thivener of Columbus; and numerous nieces and nephews.
   
In addition to his parents, Carl is also preceded in death by a son, Paul Wooten; and several brothers and sisters.
   
Carl retired from General Motors with 30 years of service.
   
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home with Mr. Ray Thivener officiating. Burial will follow in St. Valbert Cemetery in Versailles. The family will receive friends on Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. and Tuesday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.
