Freda Mae Brandon

Freda Mae Brandon age 95, of Versailles, Ohio passed away at 5:30 A.M. on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at Liberty Nursing Center in Beavercreek, Ohio. Freda was born March 26, 1919 in Piqua, Ohio to the late Leonard & Edna (Supinger) Hess.
   
Freda is survived by her sons & daughters-in-law, Jeff & Arvilla Brandon of Arcanum and Jim & Marlene Brandon of Beavercreek; daughter & son-in-law, Joyce & Keith Arnett of Laura; 9 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; brother & sister-in-law, Edward & Donna Hess of Union City, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.
   
In addition to her parents, Freda was also preceded in death by her husband, Cyril Brandon whom she married June 12, 1937 and was the former Police Chief of Versailles; daughter, Janet E. Helsel; granddaughters, Michelle Apple, Sheryl Apple Helsel Wright, Deanna Brandon Redder and Alyssa Neff; brothers, George, James and Richard Hess; and sisters, Zella Huffman and Joan Madry.
   
Freda was a homemaker and formerly worked at Subler Transfer in Versailles, Union City Body Company in Union City, Indiana and the Holiday Inn in Troy. Freda attended the Living Waters Ministries in Versailles and was a former member of the Versailles Order of Eastern Star.
   
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, October 17, 2014 at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles. Burial will follow in Miami Memorial Park in Covington. The family will receive friends on Friday from 12:00 to 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
