Michael R. Mong

Michael R. Mong, age 67, of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 10:44 A.M. on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Heartland of Greenville. Michael was born December 14, 1946 in Darke County, Ohio to the late Richard L. & Mona J. (Crawford) Mong.

Michael is survived by his brothers & sisters-in-law, Joe & Evelyn Mong of Portland, Indiana, Chris & Dixie Mong of Greenville, Tim Mong of Greenville, Phil & Linda Mong of Piqua and Steve & Lilly Mong of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; sisters & brothers-in-law, Sally & Tom Lephart of Greenville, Carol & Ed Hill of New Madison, Jane Mong of Greenville and Amy Mong of Greenville; brothers-in-law, Tim H. Harsh of Greenville and Tom J. Harsh of Greenville; sister-in-law, Jean Mong of Richmond, Indiana; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to his parents, Michael was also preceded in death by his wife, Dianna L. (Harsh) Mong on October 16, 2008; and brother, Tom Mong.

Michael served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Michael was a truck driver for Classic Carriers in Versailles, Ohio. He was a life member of the Greenville V.F.W.; member of the Greenville American Legion and Greenville Moose Lodge.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Rev. Gary Oser officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Township Memorial Gardens with Military Honors conducted by the Greenville Veteran’s Honor Guard. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Association Central & Southern Ohio Chapter 1170 Old Henderson Rd. Suite 221 Columbus, Ohio 43220.
