Marion Hanes Cooper

Marion Hanes Cooper, 91, of Arcanum, passed away Thursday, September 25, 2014.

She was born July 16, 1923, in Arcanum, Ohio, to the late Harry Russell and Marie (Corwin) Hanes.

She is survived by a daughter Nancy (Jeff) Farris of Brighton, Missouri; two grandchildren Edward (Erin) Cooper of Orange, California, and Timothy (Lauren) Cooper of Portland, Oregon; two great granddaughters Emily and Evie Cooper; a brother Harry (Hana) Hanes of Tombstone, Arizona; and daughter-in-law Nancy (William) Cooper of Greenville, Ohio.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years Ernest “Bud” Cooper, son William Hanes Cooper, and a brother Thomas C. Hanes.

After graduating from Miami Jacobs, Marion worked at Wright Patterson Air Force Base during World War II.  In the community, she was active in Faith United Methodist Church in Arcanum, United Methodist Women, Sunnyside Club, and the Arcanum Garden Club.

Funeral services will be held at 11am, Friday October 03, 2014, at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with Mrs. Janice Michael officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 10am until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be given to State of the Heart Hospice.
