Glenna Maxine Hillier

Glenna Maxine Hillier, age 93, of Piqua, Ohio, and formerly of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at 7:05 AM at Rest Haven Nursing Home, Greenville, Ohio.  She was born on December 26, 1921 in Darke County, Ohio, to the late William J. & Blanche (Cook) Miller.

She is survived by her 2nd husband, Leslie “Les” R. Hillier of Piqua, Ohio; son and daughters in law, Richard & Mary Martin of Greenville and Gloria Martin of Greenville; daughter, Marilyn Warrick of Greenville; step daughter and son in law, Judy and Rollan Brown; step daughter in law, Shirley Hillier; grandchildren, Tory Martin, Jeff Martin, Tracey Martin, Jennifer Schatz, Jessica Warrick, Lance Warrick, Julie Eldridge and Scott Martin; 14 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild; half-brother, Roger Miller; numerous step grandchildren and great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and close friends.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her 1st husband, Lowell Martin; son, Dennis “Denny” Martin; grandparents, Martin & Louise Cook; sister, Marjorie Caron; step son, Jim Hillier.

Glenna worked 15 years at Hobart Co. in Greenville and was a member of the Greenville VFW Auxiliary and St. Paul’s United Church of Christ. Glenna was a 1939 graduate of Greenville High School.  She resided in North Ft. Myers, Florida from 1978-1986 and was a charter member of the Annie Oakley Camping Club and National Camping & Hiking Association.

There will be a service held on Monday, April 13, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Jim Vandermark and Pastor John Whirledge co-officiating.  Burial will follow in the Abbottsville Cemetery, Darke County, Ohio.  Family will receive friends on Sunday, April 12, 2015 from 2-4 PM at the funeral home. 

It is the wishes of the family that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be given to the St. Paul’s United Church of Christ or the donor’s choice.
