Robert “Bob” Cole

Robert “Bob” Cole, 90 of Greenville, Ohio passed away on Friday January 9, 2015 at 11:45 AM at the State of the Heart Hospice Care Center, Greenville, Ohio.  He was born June 7, 1924 in Greenville, Ohio the son of the late Finley & Ruby (Overholser) Cole.

He was the owner/operator of Robert Cole Builder for 47 years retiring July 1, 1993.  He served in the United States Army in World War II.

He was a member of the Greenville V.F.W.; past master of the Greenville Masonic Lodge; the Greenville Elks Lodge; and had been a scoutmaster for Boy Scout troop # 134.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife:  Phyllis M. (DeWeese) Cole on June 19, 2014 whom he married September 12, 1948; sister:  Donna Wright.

He is survived by his children, Susan Hohler of Greenville, Alan & Pamela Cole of Greenville, Michael & Beth Cole of Greenville and Jeffrey & Carol Cole of Monroe, Ohio; 9 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Lou Sparklin of Greenville.

Services will be held on Thursday January 15, 2015 at 10:30 AM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio with Rev. Gary Oser officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenville Cemetery.  Family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday January 14, 2015 at the funeral home.  Veteran’s services will be conducted by the Greenville Veteran’s Honor Guard on Thursday at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to State of the Heart Hospice.
