Margaret May Stager

Margaret May Stager, age 101, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on January 2, 2015, at the Brethren Retirement Community.

She was born on December 2, 1913, in Darke County, Ohio, to the late Earl and Pansy (Garrison) Loy.  She was a 1932 graduate of Arcanum High School, went to Business College in Muncie, IN, and worked as a secretary for the Wenger Co. and Ohio Unemployment Bureau in Greenville.

She was married to Hollie William Stager on March 11, 1939, who preceded her in death on November 22, 1997.  She was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Loy, sisters Martha Denlinger and Kathryn Riffell.  She is survived by her children: Carol DeMaio, Greenville, Wm. D. (Barbara) Stager, Kettering, Brenda (Curt) Sparks, Arcanum; 8 grandchildren: Betsy (Ron) Baran, David DeMaio, Elizabeth (David) Kohler, Emily (Tony) Bruzzese, Meg Sparks, Jacob (Leslie) Sparks, Jessica Sparks (Chris Herrmann), and Rebekah (David) Gash, and 10 Great-Grandchildren: Lena Baran, Anna Baran, Lucy Bruzzese, Ned Bruzzese, Addison Sparks, Alton Sparks, Atlee Sparks, Elliott Gash, Bret Gash, Calvin Gash, and sister Phyllis Davis, Greenville.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 9, from 1 to 3 pm with services to follow at 3:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor David Cummings officiating.   Burial will be in Mote Cemetery.  Memorial contributions (in lieu of flowers) may be made to Painter Creek Church of the Brethren.
