Lucille P. "Tillie" Virden

Lucille P. “Tillie” Virden age 88, of Versailles, Ohio passed away at 1:07 P.M. on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at the Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville. Tillie was born October 25, 1926 in Piqua, Ohio to the late Louis & Zelma (Francis) Peltier.
   
Tillie is survived by her daughters & sons-in-law, Angela M. & Steven Keiser of North Star, Ohio and Christina & Lawrence Claxton of Louisiana; son, Dennis J. Virden of Idaho; granddaughter, Adrian & James Alltop; great-grandchildren, Bryan Alltop and Ashley Alltop; step grandchildren, Brian & Gina Keiser, Tracy Keiser, Angie Keiser and Kim Keiser & fiancé, Bill Mestemaker; and step great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Wenning, Logan Keiser, Chance Mestemaker, Thea Keiser, Abby Keiser and Violet Keiser.
   
In addition to her parents, Tillie was also preceded in death by her husband, James Robert Virden on September 26, 1995 whom she married July 26, 1946; brothers, Frenchie, Homer, Joe and Ralph Peltier; and sister, Mary Simon.
   
Tillie was a homemaker, caterer and cake decorator. She was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles, Daughters of Isabella and Versailles Eagles Ladies Auxiliary.
   
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles with Rev. Fr. Ron Haft celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Remy Cemetery in Russia. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. and Wednesday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles.
