Marjorie E. Lyme

Marjorie E. Lyme age 89, of Versailles, Ohio passed away at 5:30 P.M. on Monday, November 2, 2015 at her residence. Marjorie was born November 9, 1925 in Piqua, Ohio to the late John Arthur & Lydia Ellen (McVety) Russell.
   
Marjorie is survived by her son & daughter-in-law, Jim & Bev Lyme of Versailles; daughters & sons-in-law, Nancy & Ron Brewer of Versailles and Linda & John Archey of Gettysburg; 11 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; sister, Margaret Smith of Piqua; brother-in-law, Norman Lyme of Versailles; and numerous nieces and nephews.
   
In addition to her parents, Marjorie was also preceded in death by her husband, Richard H. “Red” Lyme on August 15, 2007 whom she married December 24, 1949; brothers, Ed, Joe, Harry, Charles, Harold and Johnny Russell; and sisters, Mildred Hartman, Martha Pence, Pauline Mae Jones, Edith Creager and Mabel White.
   
Marjorie formerly worked at the Buckeye Overall Factory in Versailles and was a homemaker. Marjorie was a member of Area 2 Shetland Pony Club, American Shetland Pony Club and Western Ohio Pony Breeders Association. A long with her late husband, they owned Willowlawn Stables and showed ponies at the Darke County Fair for over 53 years.
    
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, November 6, 2015 at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Gary Snowden officiating. Burial will follow in Beamsville Cemetery in Beamsville. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
