John Paul Kelch

John Paul Kelch age 96, of Greenville and formerly of Ansonia passed away at 8:20 P.M. on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at State of the Heart Hospice Care Center in Greenville. John was born October 14, 1919 in Bradford, Ohio to the late Adam & Anna Mae (Boomershine) Kelch.
   
John is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Herron of Greenville; grandson, Tim & Angela Herron of Arcanum; great-grandchildren, Adam Herron and Stephanie Herron; sister, Wanda Brewer of Ansonia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
   
In addition to his parents, John was also preceded in death by his wife, Doris M. (Miller) Kelch on August 20, 2005 whom he married June 21, 1947; son-in-law, John Herron; sister, Dorothy Kelch; and brother, Lloyd Kelch.
   
John served in the U.S. Army during WWII and received the Bronze Star Medal. John retired from Ansonia Lumber Yard and formerly worked at Moody’s Auto Sales in Ansonia. He was a member of the Ansonia American Legion, Greenville V.F.W. and Greenville Elks. John was a Volunteer Fireman for the Ansonia Volunteer Fire Department.
   
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at Zechar Bailey funeral Home in Greenville with Rev. Lowell Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Versailles with Military Honors conducted by the Greenville Veteran’s Honor Guard. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Greenville Veteran’s Honor Guard.
