Helen I. Werking

Helen I. Werking, age 92, of Greenville, Ohio, and formerly of Beavercreek, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at 12:30 AM at the Brethren Retirement Community, Greenville, Ohio.  She was born on June 25, 1923 in Glouster, Ohio, to the late Clyde & Audrey (Norris) Vernon.

Helen is survived by her husband, Phil Werking of Greenville, Ohio, whom she married on June 14, 1952; daughter and son in law, Karen & Michael Burnett of Dayton, Ohio; 5 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her sister, Kathleen Wick.

Helen was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking and reading cook books.  She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Greenville.

There will be a service held on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Church of the Nazarene, 7584 St. Rt. 118, Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Wayne Thomas and Pastor Todd Reish co-officiating.  Burial will follow in the Greenville Township Memorial Gardens, Greenville, Ohio.  Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at church.  Arrangements are under the direction of Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio.

It is the wishes of the family that memorial contributions be given to the State of the Heart Care or Brethren Retirement Community Resident Aid Fund.
