Richard R. “Butch” Hoffman

Richard R. “Butch” Hoffman, age 74, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2016 at 8:50 PM at State of the Heart Care Unit, Greenville, Ohio.  He was born on January 16, 1942 in Darke County, Ohio, to the late Charles E. “Chuck” & Marjorie L. (Isenhouer) Hoffman.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years Joyce (Deubner) Hoffman whom he married on July 31, 1965; son, Brad Hoffman of Greenville; daughter, Nicole Hoffman of Greenville; grandson, Braxton Hoffman; siblings, Scott & Doris Hoffman of Gettysburg, Ohio, and Diana & Tim Cook of St. Henry, Ohio; brother in law, Alan & Laurie Deubner of Covington, Ohio; best friend, Lady; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his step mother, Ilo M. (Deubner) Hoffman and grandparents, Richard “Dick” & Marie Hoffman.

Butch retired from Corning Glass after 35 years of service as a tradesman.  He was a member of the Sons of the Legion and VFW.  He loved fishing, hunting, camping, playing cards and most of spending time with his family.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Friday, December 9, 2016 at 2:30 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor John Sgro officiating.  Family will receive friends on Thursday, December 8, 2016 from 5-8 PM at the funeral home. 

It is the wishes of the family that memorial contributions be given to State of the Heart Care.
