Iris Jean Wills

Iris Jean Wills, age 92, of Gettysburg, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at 12:22 PM at the Versailles Health Care Center, Versailles, Ohio.  She was born on November 15, 1923 in Darke County, Ohio, to the late Lawrence & Hazel (Routzong) Miller.

Iris is survived by her sons and daughters in law, Ronald & Diane Wills of Greenville and Robert & Glee Wills of Union City, Ohio; daughter, Dixie Stickelman of New Paris, Ohio; grandchildren, John (Lori) Spencer, Jerry (Robin) Spencer, Joe (Misha) Spencer, James (Kelly) Spencer, Janese Spencer, Jason (Nicole) Hemmerich, Nicholas (Angie) Wills and Bobby Jean (Trent) Livingstion; 20 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; brother and sister in law, Robert & Alma Miller of Versailles; sister, Norma & Bill Brumbaugh of West Milton; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.   

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by husband, Charles E. Wills, Jr.; sisters, Ruby Miller, Francis Herrman, Maxine Snyder, Thelma Henry and Glenna Burkett; brother, Ivan Jack Miller; son in law, Max Stickelman and grandson, Jeff Spencer.

Iris retired in 1987 from Sheller Globe after 32 years of service.  She was a member of Beamsville Christian Church, Ansonia Senior Citizens where she was president for many years, VFW in Greenville, Sheller Globe Retiree Club and 4-H advisor for the 4-H Greenville Rangers for 10 years along with her husband.

There will be a service held on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Beamsville Christian Church, 6102 Beamsville Union City Rd., Beamsville, Ohio, with Pastor Steve Short officiating.  Burial will follow in the Greenville Township Memorial Gardens, Greenville, Ohio.  Family will receive friend one hour prior to the service at church.  Arrangements are under the direction of Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville. 

It is the wishes of the family that memorial contributions be given to the Alzheimer’s Association or State of the Heart Hospice.
