Bernice (Hughes) Leeper

Bernice (Hughes) Leeper, age 87, of New Madison, OH, passed away, Friday, June 3, 2016 at her residence.
 
She was born Wednesday, January 16, 1929 in St. James, MO, a daughter of the late John and Eliza (Sellers) Hughes.
 
In addition to her parents, Bernice was preceded in death by her husband Marvin Dale Leeper whom she married August 17, 1950; a grandchild, Ashley Leeper; a sister, Loraine Espy and two brothers, Bill Crain and Don Hughes.
 
Bernice loved to work with her hands. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening and her flowers. She loved visits from her family and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She really enjoyed when Bandit, her favorite Boston Terrier would come to visit.  In her later years, she loved working at Wendy's in Greenville because she could mingle with the customers. Bernice loved going to church and getting involved and helping in all the church functions.
 
Bernice is survived by her children: Donna (Tony) Grow of New Madison, OH, Wanda (Joe) Monnin of Springfield, OH, Dale (Linda) Leeper, II of Economy, IN; 8 grandchildren, Jason (Velvet) Grow of Greenville, OH, Jamie Grow of Economy, IN, Daniel Grow of New Madison, OH, Christina (Brad) Bashore of Springfield, OH, Catherine (Adrian) Adamson of Honolulu, HI, Jon Sullivan of Economy, IN, Dennis (Joani) Sullivan of Cambridge City, IN, Amber (Joe) Isaac of Richmond, IN. She is also survived by 9 great grandchildren, Cheyenne Grow of Greenville, OH, Dallas Grow of Greenville, OH, Avery Adamson of Honolulu, HI, Carson Bashore of Springfield, OH, Gabriel Adamson of Honolulu, HI, Taylor Girton of Valparaiso, IN, Carter Sullivan of Cambridge City, IN, Chloe Isaac of Richmond, IN, Zoey Isaac of Richmond, IN, and an adopted granddaughter, Brianna (Joe) Hibner of Cold Water, OH.
 
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Oliver Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Mike Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Township Memorial Gardens.
 
Family and friends may visit Wednesday, June 8, 2016 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
 
Memorial contributions may be made to the Palestine Church of Christ, 209 Lynn Street, Palestine, OH 45352
