David R. Pohl
David R. Pohl, age 46, of Versailles, Ohio passed away at 10:12 A.M. on
Tuesday, May 31, 2016. David was born March 13, 1970 in Greenville to
Harold & Debra (Grilliot) Pohl of Versailles.
In addition to his parents, David is survived by his wife, Brenda
(Subler) Pohl; children, Lauren Pohl and Elijah Pohl; brother, Brian
Pohl of Versailles; sisters & brother-in-law, Christina Pohl of
Versailles and Rebecca & John Liette of Versailles; father-in-law
& mother-in-law, Bruce & Darla Subler of North Star;
sister-in-law & brother-in-law, Julie & Doug Katchen of
Lakewood Ranch, Florida; brother-in-law & sister-in-law, Ryan &
Jenna Subler of Troy; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and
cousins.
David was preceded in death by an infant son, Ethan David Pohl; infant
sister, Elizabeth Pohl; mother-in-law, Rita Subler; paternal
grandparents, Ed & Margaret Pohl; and maternal grandparents,
Francis & Betty Grilliot.
David was an executive at Pohl Transportation in Versailles. He was a
1988 graduate of Versailles High School and a 1991 graduate of
Northwest Business College. David was a member of St. Denis Catholic
Church in Versailles where he was also a Communion Distributor. David
was also an officer and board member of the Ohio Trucking Association
and American Trucking Association. David was an avid Ohio State
Buckeyes Football fan and loved his family and work.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, June
4, 2016 at St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles with Rev. Fr. Carl
Subler celebrant and Rev. Fr. Ron Haft con-celebrant. Burial will
follow in St. Valbert Cemetery in Versailles. The family will receive
friends on Friday from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. and Saturday from 9:00 to
10:00 A.M. at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles. Memorial
contributions may be made to Friends of Hole Field or to a charity of
the donor’s choice in David’s memory.
