David Michael “Mike” Wood

David Michael “Mike” Wood, age 62, of Arcanum, Ohio passed away at 12:40 P.M. on Friday, March 4, 2016 at his residence. Mike was born August 21, 1953 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Medgitt Koontz & Garnett Arlene (Bartram) Wood I.

Mike is survived by his wife, Cynthia “Cindy” (Moore) Wood whom he married July 7, 2009; son, David M. Wood II of Fairborn; step-children, John E. Diffendal of Dayton, Steven W. Diffendal of Kettering, Nicholas M. Getzinger of Fairborn, Jason C. Zielinski of Baltimore, Maryland, Jessica A. Zielinski or Maryville, Missouri and Jennifer D. Sullivan of Bradford; numerous grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; brothers, James L. Wood of Camden, Donald E. Wood of Conroe, Texas, Joseph H. Wood of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Robert R. Wood of Sylacauga, Alabama and Paul D. Wood of Vandalia; sisters, Betty M. Carter of Dayton and Janet P. Madison of Florida; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mike was also preceded in death by a daughter, Vanessa Nicole Wood; grandson, Austin Michael Wood; brothers, Medgitt K. Wood Jr., Albert Wood, Franklin D. Wood and twins, Floyd and Lloyd Wood; and sister, Joyce A. Wood.

Mike was a truck driver for Ryder Integrated Logistics in Dayton. He was a member of Victory Church in Tipp City.

A celebration of Mike’s life will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at Victory Church 4645 South County Road 25-A in Tipp City with Pastor Andy Warren officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10:00 to 12:00 P.M. at the church. Memorial contributions may be made in Mike’s memory to Victory Church 4645 South County Rd. 25-A Tipp City, OH 45371. Arrangements are under the direction of Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville.
