Mary Louise Holzapfel

Mary Louise Holzapfel, age 86, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Friday, May 6, 2016 at 5:04 PM at State of the Heart Care Unit in Greenville, Ohio.  She was born on January 8, 1930 in Darke County, Ohio, to the late Hubert Louis & Mercedes (Monnin) Magoteaux.

Mary is survived by her daughter and son in law, Diane & Jeff Amick of Greenville; sons and daughters in law, Mike & Dana Holzapfel of Greenville, Tom & LuAnne Holzapfel of Beavercreek, Ohio, Bob & Mary Beth Holzapfel of Beavercreek, Ohio, and Ron & Jill Holzapfel of Greenville; grandchildren, Ryan & Betsy Holzapfel, Brad & Holly Holzapfel, Scott & Hillary Holzapfel, Ben Amick, Stacy & Scott Love, Allie & Jeremy DePoy, Tyler Holzapfel, Brady Holzapfel, Brian Holzapfel, Jay Holzapfel, Andrea & Ron Lutterbie, Ashley Holzapfel and Courtney Holzapfel; 16 great grandchildren; siblings, Hubert Magoteaux Jr. of Osgood, Ohio, Jeanette Grilliot of Beavercreek, Ohio, Suzanne (Jim) Wakefield of Brinkhaven, Ohio, and Linda (Jerry) Stammen of Versailles; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, H. James Holzapfel whom she married on Nov. 21, 1951; and brothers, Sylvester and Lowell Magoteaux. 

Mary was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Wayne HealthCare Auxiliary.  She retired from the City of Greenville where she worked in the Auditor’s Office.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at 10:30 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 233 W. 3rd St., Greenville, Ohio, with Rev. Fr. John R. White celebrant.  Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Greenville, Ohio.  Family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 from 5-8 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio. 

In lieu of flowers it is the wishes of the family that memorial contributions be given to the State of the Heart Care or Donor’s Choice.
