Cyril B. Braun

Cyril B. Braun, 90, of Greenville, passed away on April 23, 2017 at the State of the Heart Care Center in Greenville.

Cyril was born on Saturday, September 4, 1926 in St. Peters in Mercer County, OH, to the late Edward and Anna (Post) Braun.

In addition to his parents, Cyril was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth (Goubeaux) Braun whom he married on April 19, 1952; his son, John Braun; his sister, Juanita Braun and his brother Joseph Braun.

Cyril was a veteran of the United States Army, serving honorably during WWII. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greenville. He enjoyed putting out his garden and “secretly” comparing his garden to his neighbors’ gardens. Cyril enjoyed long walks and visiting relatives. He loved playing with his grandchildren and teaching them the art of poker.

Cyril is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Gary Ayette of Greenville, and son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Vivian Braun; his grandchildren, Jenilee Braun, Anna Braun, Rebecca Braun, Matt (Amber) Ayette, Jessica (Gabe) Vazquez, Steven Ayette; his step grandchildren, John (Liz Schwab) Ayette and David (Angie) Ayette; his sister Louella Deniston; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greenville with Fr. John White officiating. Burial, with full military honors provided by the Greenville Honor Guard, will follow in St. Mary's Church Cemetery.

Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 from 5:00 PM to 7:45 PM at Oliver Floyd Funeral Home with a Rosary Service being held at 7:45 PM. A prayer service will be had prior to the visitation, starting at 4:45 PM.
