Larry R. Bretz

Larry R. Bretz, 80 of Russell Springs, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday July 2, 2017 at his residence.  He was born September 28, 1936 in Union City, Indiana the son of the late Emerson & Ethel (Woods) Bretz.  He retired from Dayton Power & Light after 40 years and served in the United States Army.  He was a member of the Covington Eagles; and Coffeys Chapel United Methodist Church
He is preceded in death by his parents; son: Gary R. Bretz in 1958; brother:  Charles Bretz; sister:  Elnora Stoltz; brother in law:  Bob Stoltz; sister in law:  Peg Bretz.
He is survived by his wife:  Betty Jane (Clark) Bretz of Russell Springs, Kentucky whom he married May 5, 1956; sons & daughters in law:  Larry Paul & Cindy Bretz of Russell Springs, Kentucky, Terry Gene & Nina Bretz of Dayton, Ohio; daughter:  Vicky Lynn Trueblood of London, Ohio; grandchildren:  Mark & Rion, Allison, Michael & Rachel, Rachel, Justin & Shannon; Great grandchildren:  Amelia, Josselyn, Chloe, Liam, Olivia, & Avery; step grandchildren:  Alvin Simmons, & Summer Simmons; 8 step great grandchildren; 9 step great great grandchildren; brother in law:  Kenneth Clark; sister in law:  Sue Clark; numerous nieces, nephews & friends.
Services will be held on Friday July 7, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home with Pastor Todd Reish officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenville Cemetery.  Family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.  Veteran’s graveside services will be conducted by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Association.
