Daniel Charles Nisonger

Daniel Charles Nisonger, 77, of Greenville, passed away, Friday, March 17, 2017 at Tampa General Hospital in Tampa, FL.
 
He was born Saturday, November 4, 1939 in North Star, OH, a son of the late Charles and Rosemary (Barga) Nisonger.
 
In addition to his parents, Daniel was preceded in death by his son, Steve Nisonger.
 
Dan was born and raised on his family farm in North Star. He was a Jack-of-all-Trades who could do anything he set his mind to. He was a diesel mechanic and could put any truck back together. He played a major role in the building of the house that he and Wilma Jean still live in. Dan was a farmer until his health made it difficult to handle the heavy workload. He was a member of the National Guard for six years and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greenville. Dan enjoyed all kinds of sports. He would watch NASCAR and Indy Car races. He liked watching football games and rooting for The Ohio State Buckeyes. He was a member of the Greenville American Legion and the Greenville Elks and was a proud democrat.
 
Daniel is survived by his wife, of 54 years, Wilma Jean (Hobbs) Nisonger, of Greenville, whom he married Saturday, March 24, 1962; his son and daughter-in-law, Mark (Mary) Nisonger of Greenville; a granddaughter, Stephanie Nisonger of Bradford; a great grandson, Aiden Gutierrez of Bradford; three step grandchildren; six brothers and sisters, Norma (Clete) Skraback of Everett, WA, Tom (Ann) Nisonger of West Liberty, OH, Dick (Aleta) Nisonger of Roundhead, OH, Susan (Don) Hughes of Manchester, MO, Kathleen (Joe) Marotta of Stubenville, OH, Rosanne (Dennis) Parks of Atascadero, CA; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
 
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Louis Catholic Church in North Star at a later date.
