Jerry Michael Ryder

Jerry Michael Ryder, 77, of Arcanum passed away on May 17, 2017 at Dayton VA Medical Center.

Jerry was born on July 22, 1939 in Hot Springs, Virginia to the late Otis William and Irene Elizabeth (Keyser) Ryder.

Jerry worked at Wright Pat, Whirlpool, and drove a bus for Buckeye Charter mainly driving the Dayton Dragons around. He enjoyed traveling, camping, boating and drinking beer. Jerry loved riding his Harley, especially to Sturgis. He honorably served our country in the US Army as a paratrooper. Jerry was a people person and everyone loved being around him. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family most of all.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 27 years, Roseanna (Skaggs) Ryder, whom he married on November 13, 1989; two daughters, Diane Lazarus and significant other, Chris Morea, and Cherise and Bill Zobrist; two sons, Craig and Melissa Garland, and Brent Garland; grandchildren, Kyle Morrow, Tyler Morrow, Hannah Morrow, Logan Lazarus, Gabrielle Lazarus, Max Garland, Kylie Watts; one great grandchild, Keegan Bell; and a sister, Charlotte and Ken Short.

Jerry was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

A Celebration of Jerry`s life will take place on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Chenoweth Trails, 440 Greenville-Nashville Road, Greenville at 1 PM with full military honors by the Darke County Honor Guard with music and food to follow. Friends and family are encouraged to wear their favorite Harley Davidson t-shirt, and bring their favorite memories and stories of Jerry. Memorial contributions may be made to State of the Heart Care, 1350 North Broadway, Greenville, Ohio 45331.
