George "Sonny" Summers

George "Sonny" Summers, 57, of Hollansburg, passed away on January 19, 2018 at his residence.

He was born on February 12, 1960 in Greenville the son of the late George and Linda (Gerling) Summers.

Sonny was a self-employed drywall installer and worked very closely with Walker Construction in Greenville. Sonny was very passionate and took pride in his profession. He was a member of the Greenville Moose Lodge #329 and a booster member of the American Legion Post #140 both in Greenville. Sonny was an avid golfer with multiple holes-in-one at Union City Country Club. He also enjoyed fishing, camping, tinkering on his tractors, RC Cars and was a self-proclaimed MacGyver. Sonny loved spending time with his friends and family.

Sonny is survived by his wife of 27 years, Diane (Garrett) Summers of Hollansburg, whom he married August 16, 1990; his children, Daryl Rehmertof Greenville, Brian (Angie) Rehmert of New Weston, Ashley (Clinton) Sharp of Arcanum, and Ashley (Clint) Stewart of New Madison; his grandchildren, Harley, Hailee, and Levi Rehmert, Bryson Sharp, Katie Sharp, Andrew, Blake and Ben Rehmert, Caison and Corbin Stewart; his sister and brother-in-law, Teresa (Wayne) Harmon of Yorkshire; his brother, David Summers of Columbus, numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 6:45 PM on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Oliver Floyd Funeral Home, with the Greenville Moose Lodge conducting a Lodge of Sorrow at 6:30 PM.

Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 from 4 PM until 6:30 PM also at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Sonny's family.
