Matthew Alan Koerner

Matthew Alan Koerner, 36, of Arcanum, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly, at his home, on Saturday, September 21, 2019.

Matt was born on January 14, 1983 in Dayton, Ohio, to Ronald and Cynthia (Lawson) Koerner of Brookville, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Richard and Mary Koerner; and his maternal grandmother, Audrey "Fran" Lawson.

Matt was many things; a man of faith, a man of honor, and a devoted family man. He was a 2001 graduate of Northmont High School in Clayton, Ohio, and worked for Clopay in Troy for six years as the operations supervisor. He was a very active member of Gospel Baptist Church and enjoyed being a youth leader, AWANA Sparks director and Director of Connections. He loved his wife and his children, they meant the world to him. He loved taking Harper to the park, his car-ride talks with Liz, watching Allison's plays and watching Lucas bowl. He looked forward to and loved watching movies with all the kids. Matt was an Ohio State Football fan, loved listening to all types of music and dancing. He had a contagious smile and glowing dimples. Matt was an amazing husband, loving father, devoted son and had a heart of gold. He would do anything for anyone.

In addition to his parents, Matt is survived by his wife, Erin (Bundy) Koerner, whom he married April 1, 2017; his children, Elizabeth, Allison and Lucas Koerner of Vandalia, Ohio, and Harper Koerner of Arcanum; and countless aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Matt's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 27, 2019 at Gospel Baptist Church, 383 Eidson Road, Greenville, with Pastor Bill Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Royal Oak Cemetery in Brookville, Ohio.

Friends may visit with Matt's family on Thursday, September 26, 2019 from 4:00PM to 7:00PM at the church.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Gospel Baptist Church, P.O. Box 14, Greenville, Ohio 45331
