Dave "Bubba" Willoughby

Dave "Bubba" Willoughby, 53, of Arcanum, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2020, at Life Care Hospital in Miamisburg, Ohio.

Dave was born on August 13, 1966, in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Pat and Jan (King) Willoughby.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Irlene Willoughby; and his niece Sara Willoughby.

If you had the distinct pleasure of meeting Dave "Bubba" Willoughby, you would never forget him. He was one of a kind. He loved people, he loved talking, and loved to make people laugh. He never met a stranger and could carry on a conversation with a chair. Dave attended the Pleasant View Missionary Church and loved to fellowship with his church community He served his country honorably in the United States Army. He had many interests and passions, such as deer hunting, camping, and storm chasing. Dave has even been known to chase a tornado or two. However, his greatest passion was his wife, Tina, and his son, Hunter. Most people didn't know that Dave wanted to have twins, so he could name them Bo and Hunter in recognition of his love of bow hunting. Since one baby is all that arrived, he was happy naming him Hunter. Nothing made Dave more proud than watching Hunter participate in cross-country and track.

Dave was an outdoorsman with his favorite color being camo. His love of camping was fostered by the many camping trips he went on with his parents and siblings when he was younger. He and his brothers were always into some shenanigans. These trips could be called the adventures of the Willoughby brothers, or the torment of Kathy. She was always getting the short end of the stick when her brothers were up to no good. As an adult, Dave still had a great love of nature and camping, especially taking his family to Ludlow Falls Church Camp. He will always be present wherever his family might be, and they will continue looking for deer through their car windows, just for him.

Dave is survived by his wife of 20 years, Tina (Artz) Willoughby, whom he married April 22, 2000; his son, Hunter Willoughby, of Arcanum; his brothers, Pat Willoughby and his wife Becci, of Beavercreek, Ohio, and their daughter, Rachel, and his twin brother, Dan Willoughby and his wife Kim of Canadian Lakes, Michigan; his sister, Kathy Willoughby of West Carrollton, Ohio, and her son, Nelson; his father and mother-in-law, Dan and Paula Artz of Arcanum; his sisters-in-law, Pam Whitaker and her husband, Jon, and their children Mason, Micah, and Faith, Andrea Jenkins and her husband, Andy, and their children, Shane and Ashley; his stepbrothers, Larry, Greg, and Jeff; his stepsister, Diane; and various aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Celebration of Dave's life, with full military honors provided by the Greenville Honor Guard, will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 8, 2020, at Pleasant View Missionary Church, 5231 Gettysburg - Pitsburg Road, Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Sean Martin officiating.

Guests may visit with Dave's family on Saturday, from 11:00 AM until the time of the memorial service at 1:00 PM at the church.

In lieu of flowers, monetary donations may be given to Dave's family to help with his medical expenses and any future needs that Tina or Hunter might have.
