Matthew C. Brown

Matthew C. Brown age 45, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 5, 2020, at his residence.

He was born September 23, 1974, in Greenville, Ohio, to Jerry Brown and Karen (Smith) Fiste, both of Greenville.

Matthew was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Edward Lewis Brown; his maternal grandparents, William and Icy Smith; his step grandmother, Treva Fiste; and his aunt, Janet Smith.

Matthew loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He was known to give people a hard time and enjoyed picking on others. He liked to go fishing, especially at Lake Loramie. Matthew spent over 20 years working for Bowman Concessions. During the winter, you could find Matthew at Flory’s Landscaping plowing Snow. When he was not working, Matthew enjoyed building things with Legos, watching TV and spending time in the garage.

In addition to his parents, Matthew is survived by his wife, Kelly (Hiestand) Brown, whom he married on October 28, 2017; his stepmother, Joan Brown of Greenville; his stepfather, Ron Fiste of Greenville; his siblings, Melissa Ramsey and her husband, Clayton of Greenville, Shawn Fiste of Greenville, John Hester of Montgomery, Alabama, Mike Nixon of League City, Texas, and Dawn Martinez of League City, Texas; his paternal grandmother, Bonnie Owens of Union City, Ohio; his step grandfather, Bob Fiste, Sr. of Greenville; his nieces and nephews, Cody Brown and his wife, Natasha of Hollansburg, Jessica Trimpi and her husband, Kyle of Greenville, Ryan Klopfer of Greenville, Brittany Carr and her husband, Eric of Sidney, Dallas Hughes of Columbus, Dustin Watkins of Sidney, Matthew Blankenship of Pleasant Hill, Elijah Hiestand of Ansonia, and Ariel Hiestand of Ansonia; and many great nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Matthew’s life will take place at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 12, 2020, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Jim Morehouse officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions may be given to Zechar Bailey Funeral Home to help offset final expenses.
