Patricia Ann Showalter

Patricia Ann Showalter, age 89 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 4:00 PM Sunday February 7, 2021 at the State of the Heart Hospice Care Center in Greenville. Patricia was born December
18, 1931 in Darke County and the daughter of the late Robert and Grace (Brumbaugh) Applegate.

During her earlier years, Patricia had been employed as a payroll clerk for the former CW Fry Construction Company and the Darke County United Way Fund.

She married Glenn P. Showalter of Greenville on June 27, 1953.

She was a past active member of Pleasant View Missionary Church, serving in the choir and teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for decades.

Patricia and Glenn later wintered in Florida, and she was active in the North Shore Missionary Church in Ft. Myers, Florida. Patricia later joined the Greenville Missionary Church where she sang in the choir and volunteered with Darke County Youth for Christ.

After being in the Brethren Home for a short post-surgery rehabilitation stay in 2014, at age 82 she started a regular visiting program for local nursing home residents.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Glenn P. Showalter, her son G. Marc Showalter and sisters Mary Shields and Winifred Netzley.

Patricia is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Amy Renae Showalter and Randy Boyer of Cincinnati, daughter-in-law Angela Showalter of Columbus, grandsons
Alex James Miller and Paxton Glenn Showalter, both of Columbus as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 13, 2021,  from 10:00 AM until time of  Funeral Services at 11:00 A.M. in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Gary Oser officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Cemetery.

It is the wishes of the family that Memorial Contributions be given to State of the Heart Hospice www.stateoftheheartcare.org or Pet Partners www.petpartners.org.
