Margaret Leona Smith

Margaret Leona Smith, 86, in New Madison, Ohio, passed away early Sunday morning, February 28, 2021, at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born on September 19, 1934, in Richmond, Indiana, to the late Earl and Glenna (Maiden Name) Rodgers.

In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph in 2012, whom she married on (Date); her sisters, Phyllis O'Brien, and Earlene Thomas; and her brothers, James and Mark Phillips.

Margaret was born and raised in Richmond, Indiana. After she and Ralph married, they moved to Ohio. She worked at Westinghouse retiring after 20 years. Following her retirement, she worked at the famous Fort Black Buffet in New Madison for 24 years, where she was known for her pot pie. Margaret was a member of the New Madison United Methodist Church and looked forward to the Thursday night dinners with the ladies from church.

Margaret is survived by her children, Teresa Clark and her husband, Steve, of Greenville, Ohio, Scott Smith and his wife, JoBeth, of Fairfield Glade, Tennessee, and Kris Smith and his wife, Rebecca, of Shamong, New Jersey; her grandchildren, Tracy Burns and his wife, Amy, Heidi Brinley and her husband, Josh, Chloe Smith, Bryant Smith, Katie Garvin and her husband, Bryan, Drew Meythaler, Shannon Clark and his wife Brittany; her great grandchildren, Samantha and Claire Burns, Christopher, Caleb and Cole Brinley, Annabelle, Evelyn, and Timothy Garvin, and Navie, Island, and Castle Clark. Margaret also leaves behind her pet and pal, Gizmo, who has been her faithful companion after Ralph passed away.

A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of her family at Glen Haven Memorial Cemetery in Boston, Indiana.

Margaret's family has entrusted Tribute Funeral Homes with her final arrangements.
