Just Leave Me Alone about it, …Already!!

So,…..me and the Pope. Who knew???

This week, Pope Francis announced that if gay priests felt that God had accepted them as they were, then who was he (his Popeness) to judge them??

Finally. Common Sense.

From one of the least likely places on Earth, where one might expect it:

The Vatican,…of all places.

Now both sides can go off, and posture, and pontificate on how “enlightened” and magnificent they are, and why you should drop everything and rally to them, and with them,……..just for doing what everyone should already be doing,….anyway.

But it’s the same with all topics involving supposed cultural oppression, or maltreatment of some kind, which people feel strongly about.

They have an unflagging need to right their wrong, in public, for all to see, and for us to be made to confess to all prior sins, real or imagined.

It’s just not in them to leave good people alone about all of that, to decide for themselves, even after they’ve been given all they can possibly get.

They not only have to judge you, from their own distorted point of view of course, for being a dunderhead, or a dinosaur, or a homophobe, or an uncultured bigot, or a godless heathen, but then they have to TELL YOU, ad nauseum, why they are so completely right, and you are so very wrong (you moronic idiot!), over and over, and over, and over some more.

JUST LEAVE ME ALONE ABOUT IT,…..ALREADY !!!

I’ll give you what you want, and you can have your opinion, just keep me out of all the drama and foot stomping, ….please!!

I’m not going to judge your lifestyle, or choice, you can have it. Do what makes you happy. Go where you need to go, and do what you want to do.

I may not like it, nor agree with what you do, but it’s your life. As long as you don’t cause other people tangible problems with it, nor cost others money to make it happen, then go for it.

JUST LEAVE ME ALONE….with all your drama and “who struck John”.

Don’t need it, don’t want it, you can have it, ….really. And your life choices too, really, I won’t bother you. (just leave me alone!)

And they always come at you in full sail (no halfway measures nor protests, them), with their many and various stripes of arrogance, condescension, and self-righteousness, stretched out in glorious technicolor.

This comes from all sides, too.

From the supposedly “open minded and enlightened” free thinkers (the ones who can conjure up a fix for every problem, a right for every wrong, regardless of whether common sense is involved, or not), as well as those “stuffed shirts”, closed off from any and all thoughts, from outside their straight-up, narrow minded, and biased world.

The Pope’s statement about gays is a “two-fer” for me, in this bothersome way.

We’ve got the arrogant, tunnel-visioned (sometimes criminal) Catholic Church leadership, still quoting scripture and policy made up by some murderous 14th century pillage and plunderer, masquerading as somebody religious and holy, telling us what “God’s Word and Law” is.

Really? How do they know? Can’t I figure that out on my own?

No way! Those marketing gurus and copywriters from the 1st and 2nd centuries knew best. Got it right from the Big Man himself! How do we know that? Because they told us they did, that’s how. Don’t you believe them?

Perfect.

Offering you God’s love, and eternal happiness, but don’t dare have a stray thought of your own. If you be so bold, muchless independent, all manner of horrific pestilence, and fever, and endless suffering await you.

Really? Just for having my own idea about God? And what might be acceptable to Him (or Her)?

No, no, can’t have that. It must be done our way, you couldn’t possibly have any cogent thoughts regarding eternal love, lest you beget eternal damnation.

Says so too, right there in that book, first scribbled in some language two thousand years ago, on some parchment that crumbled or blew away soon after, and not published nor printed permanently until fifteen hundred years later.

Hmmm….   Wonder if anything might have changed, or been written down differently, originally.   Couldn’t be.   Why?   Because that Pope fellow guarantees it, that’s why.   (Wonder if he sells used cars, too?)

Whatever.   Just Leave Me Alone with all that.   I’m doing fine by myself.

And gays.    This is the real world, people.   What do you think happens, when you live against the norm, and dare act or behave a little differently, or have preferences that don’t match the majority of other folks??

Minorities are minorities, and for centuries, the majority made all the rules. Wasn’t right, ….even sinful. Many people (perhaps millions) suffered or died needlessly, because of that majority rule.

May those rule makers rot in Hell.

But that has mostly all changed now. Or at least virtually every court in the land is now sympathetic, and has granted nearly all requests of equality, and all benefits previously denied.

Isn’t that enough? The majority still exists, and in this issue, homosexuality, it always will. So take what you’ve got now, which is everything you wanted, and could ever expect to get, and go home and be happy.

And, Leave Me Alone About it….Already!!

You’ve got my vote, now shut up about it !!

Abortion? Same stuff.

I’m personally against it, but won’t stand in your way if you choose to have one.

Even if some “wannabe human” inside you (or whatever it is that’s growing in there) is denied the chance to later breathe fresh air on its own? Your call.

Just leave me out of what you think your rights are, beyond that. Go do what you feel you must, pay for it yourself, and then go home and shut up.

And definitely leave me out of it, when you ask me to pay for it !! NOT your call there, to take anyone else’s money, without their knowledge, or against their wishes, for a “termination” procedure, especially one that’s not medically necessary.

You can absolutely shut up about that one, ….before you even get started.

And you Pro-Lifers, ….what in the world are you thinking???

Killing abortion doctors, to right the wrong of killing babies??? Please,…can we stop for a minute, and talk a little about hypocrisy?

What your religious beliefs tell you, are guidelines for YOUR life, not a license to take common law into your own hands, and then play like the God you supposedly love so dearly, and take another life yourself.

That’s so far over the edge, that I shouldn’t ever be required to tell you, …..to please,….

Just Leave Me Alone on this one, I’ve had waaayy more than enough from you.

All organized religions fall into this same category for me. I find my own way, and consider myself very spiritual.

But that’s not nearly enough for so many of the over-zealous, god hope-to-bes, who just can’t stand it if you don’t call the name of their particular lord and savior, at every possible moment of opportunity.

I just don’t feel the need to restrict my spirituality, nor my sources of inspiration for it, to one or two specific written works. Nor the need to name anyone, or anything, who may be responsible for this marvelous globe we inhabit.

It’s all around us, ….this inspiration,….it’s wonderful, and there for everyone,….unconditionally.    And some are so beautiful and wondrous, that they can’t possibly be put into words.   No need, even if there was a way.

So please,…leave me alone about religion, and how much you love and are engulfed by your savior.    I’m happy for you, and glad you have found this source of contentment.    Just stop telling me about it.    Please.

I’m not naïve.   I know my history.   And I don’t expect this to change, ….it never has.

But wouldn’t it be so wonderfully different, and so much more peaceful, if we all just kept our life style opinions to ourselves?

And our judgments of others, as well?

Oh,…sorry,…. for a moment there I must have thought I was locked inside Disney World, …..in Fantasyland.

So, now firmly back in reality, ……when you feel like you need to tell me how terribly wronged you’ve been, and how much you’ve suffered, count on me to help you fix that. But once you have…..

JUST LEAVE ME ALONE ABOUT IT…….ALREADY !!!!!
