From the Other Side of the Edge…..
Of Fundraisers,
…Rocket Attacks, …an Immigration Disaster, …and Golf

Are ya completely sick of it yet ??
Are you just ready to throw up, and walk away from all this insanity???
We’ve got commercial airliners being shot out of the sky, from six
miles above the Ukraine, …thousands of rockets being fired back and
forth, in the Middle East, with hundreds dying as a result, …and tens
of thousands of Central Americans flooding our southern border states,
with more and more coming every day, ….while our President is telling
jokes and scaring up a paltry $32K, at a gay pride political
fundraiser, in Manhattan.
Don’t even try.
There’s absolutely no sense to be made of it, no matter how it’s spun
nor skewed. It’s just the world we live in right now,
…and we let it happen.
I’ve been accused, recently, of losing focus, and of forgetting about
the still painful, and far too many, incredible tragedies and brazen
scandals involving the Obama administration, …of the past year or
more.
I haven’t.
But wading through, and attempting intelligent comment on, these now
more than 15 or 16 major, history shaping, and life changing events,
which seem to come at us in staccato-like intervals, …doesn’t leave
much time to do each the justice they deserve, especially when forced
to leap frog between all of them, …and so often.
Each merits proper attention, and should never be forgotten, …nor
allowed to go unresolved, to be sure.
But with so many, and with more arriving all the time, this ol’
Carnival Ride we’re on here, just keeps going faster and faster, ….to
the point where merely holding on, …becomes its own
challenge.
I’ve also been accused, just as recently, of being too naïve, and
giving too much credit, regarding my thoughts and statements about the
current President, and his true intentions for the future direction of
our country.
I’m not, …and I don’t.
However, I will admit to falling victim, occasionally, to that hard to
shake, old-school belief that the President is the President, …and that
he will do all in his power to right all the wrongs, and correct the
injustices (and not create any of his own).
The belief that tells me I should give him proper respect, for the
office he holds, and defer to him in times of true crises, or national
difficulties.
But I’m not an idiot, …and I can see and hear, …and I do know how to
reason, all by myself.
I also have a very good “B.S.” detector going for me, and can spot a
con-man, and/or a phony (and especially a liar), from several miles
away.
So the events of this past week shouldn’t have surprised me, given the
other, similar amazements, …but they did.
Or maybe, …I just reached a tipping point, at which I either needed to
throw up my hands (and my lunch) and take a long walk off of a short
pier, …or, …take up arms in some way, to try and fix this mortal
mess.
I don’t know the immediate answer, to this upside-down, inside-out,
wrong trumps right, law doesn’t count, the parsing of every word is the
only thing that matters, labyrinth of a maze in which we have put
ourselves today.
But, the immediate question should be: Why did we let this
happen, and what in the hell are we going to do to make sure that it
never happens again ??!!??
He plays us, this President, and every day. He
disrespects us, and makes a fool out of this whole country, …every time
he opens his mouth.
He doesn’t care, about anything important, and he shows us that fine
attribute, every time he’s called upon to actually BE the
President.
One just wants to say, and loudly, for all to hear:
“Hey Barry, we know you don’t give a rat’s behind (or fill in your own
choice word) about anything but yourself, and your beloved, and bogus,
agenda, …but could you at least pretend to be Presidential , …a little
bit, ….huh, …maybe once in a while ???”
There’s an old adage, which applies here, that goes: “Could
you at least kiss me, once or twice anyway, …before you ‘screw’ me
??” (usually a much stronger word there, …I think you
know it)
And that’s what he’s doing. Stealing our money, for
his private use, and his perverse notions of
“re-distribution”. And ruining, not so slowly,
what is left of the great foundation we were built
on.
Has he ever looked or acted Presidential ? Nothing
jumps to mind, even from the beginning. And even
during the times when he should have been nothing but.
Think about his behaviors, of the last couple of years.
Most recently, last Thursday, an otherwise uninvolved commercial Boeing
777 jetliner, carrying nearly 300 souls, was shot down by factions
within the chaotic war zone which is the Ukraine. Many
Americans were originally thought to be onboard.
On that same day, the Israeli government, having had enough of the
nearly 1500 rockets fired their way by Hamas, from the Gaza Strip over
the last few weeks, determined that they needed to invade their former
territory, to put an end to those attacks. The
Palestinians there, naturally, did not take that action
lightly.
And where was our President, …during all of this ?
On a riverbank in Delaware, speaking to a bunch of bridge building
contractors, and telling them how much “His” government was going to do
for them, to help their collective businesses.
In other words, a political rally, …with the money flowing both
ways.
No “Situation Room”, no intense focus on the dangerous and imposing
events of the day. Nope, …just on to NYC after that, for
two more political money grabs, …and with a back of his hand to the
face of the American people.
No seeming care for anyone, nor anything, …other than his political
allies and cronies.
There was the “pool game and a beer” photo-op, in Colorado the week
before, when the Governors of Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, and
California, were fairly begging him to come to the Mexican border to
observe the mayhem there, and to perhaps offer some possible solution,
to their unsolvable mass illegal immigration problem.
Not Barry. Nope, not his deal. Didn’t
want to “own” that one. Nor any other “one”.
There was the plane ride to Vegas, the day after Benghazi happened,
…for, you guessed it, …a fundraising rally, for his fellow Dems out
there.
In fact, where was Mr. BHO, the very night that Benghazi was
happening???
And the same thing, the day after he addressed the families of the
latest Ft. Hood victims. More politics, …more money
grabbing. Where’s the respect?
He hosted a “Democrat Party Happy Hour”, which he brought in with a big
laughing toast, moments after addressing the nation about Russia’s
invasion of Crimea. Where’s the concern, …and the
respect?
Where’s the man elected to the position to do something about these
things??
Well, that was him, hosting a huge birthday bash (and leading the
“conga” line), for his ownself, the day before Standard & Poor’s
downgraded the U.S. credit rating, …for the first time
ever.
And that was him you saw, out on the golf course, every single day
during the budget showdown/shutdown crises.
The links have called to him, in fact, over 180 times during his five
and a half years in office. Sometimes in exotic, faraway
places, too, which are quite expensive (on us) to get to.
(“W” played just 24 times, in his 8 years, …just sayin’.)
Okay then, …don’t know if my good friends from Florida and Maryland
(who were kind, but firm with me) feel any better, but I sure do, …now
that I’ve gotten that rant off my chest !!
Maybe someday, …we can get back to the point where deference, and
respect, …can once again trump debilitating petty political squabbles,
and “talking points” used as gospel.
Let’s work real hard on that.
The office of the President should mean a little more, …than just being
able to get the best tee times.
