From the Other Side of the Edge….
The Peacock, …and his Video Game “Strategy”
By Joe Facinoli

As he strutted his way bad, and very cool self on up to the White House podium last week, just before allowing us to listen to His instructive wisdoms (and versions of the truth), …you could almost see His glorious array of feathers, begin to spread out behind and around Him, in all their amazing (and self-serving) resplendency.

“He” had arrived, …and “He” would tell us now, what was the best plan of action, for fighting against the latest (but unfortunately very real, this time) group of world terrorists (and for once, it wasn’t the Republicans).

For ya see, ….“He” finally had a strategy.

ISIS, is the most savage and brazen group of terror obsessed radicals, bombers, and religious fanatics the world has seen in quite some time, ….and it only took “Him” six weeks to come up with a plan??

That’s leadership ???

And then the litany began.    “I” did this, …and “I” did that, …and “I” saved the world, …and “I” protected all, from the horrors of Hell.

Blah, blah, blah, …and yadda, yadda, yadda.

“My” administration did this thing, …and at “My” direction, that given group, from “My” military, took out such and such extremists and militants, …and “My” genuine affection and caring for, all things American (especially if you happen to be Muslim, and/or Black), proves “My” outstanding leadership qualities.

Or words to that effect.

Somewhere in there, among all those first person singular pronouns, and all the accolades directed at, and given to same, “His” plan emerged.

Let’s just say, ….we had hoped for a bit more.

Employing (or substituting) what amounts to “video game” mentality and plan of action, with its quick hits and quick fixes, …for viable, long term military tactics, is not only naïve and foolhardy, it’s dangerously stupid.

Trying to wage a surgical and pristine air war, against tens of thousands of ruthless guerilla ground warriors (to end all guerilla warriors), over thousands of square miles, …without getting our hair mussed up or our neckties dirty, and believing this to be a sound, winnable strategy, …only shows the complete lack of experience (and thought process) which our leader possesses.

Top Gun X-Box 360, or Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2-Black Ops, are best played at home, while sitting on the foldout futon in the corner of your basement, …and not from the “Situation Room” at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

Rounding up partners, wannabe allies, and other rogue shooters, from all over cyberspace, social media, and from third world countries and regions most have never heard of, is not exactly militarily judicious nor prudent, …nor even a little bit smart.

And it’s definitely not real.

But then again, Obama’s Presidency has never been tuned into reality, in even the slightest way, since the beginning, …so what did we expect?

While playing these sorts of “push button” games, from afar, you can win big sometimes, and even spectacularly, with very little loss, or even much downside.

And if you fail, …you just wait a while, then start again, with all losses wiped away, and taken off the charts.    Lots of reality there, …yes?

It can all be over in the blink of an eye, ….but it doesn’t matter, ‘cause it ain’t real.

But Obama would have you believe, …in fact, insist that you believe, that all this is not only possible, but expected.

He says we won’t have many Americans in neither Syria nor Iraq, where ISIS has its strongest holds, …just advisors and trainers, for our Arab partners.

Says we won’t need “boots on the ground”, because of our air superiority, and because our new “partners”, who have suddenly seen the light, will handle that.

I would suggest dialing up Google’s history section, and checking out Omaha Beach on D-Day, and Vietnam, and Afghanistan (during either Russian or American tenures there), and read about how that “air superiority” thing worked out for them.

Wars are won on the ground.    You can bomb the hell out of a region, but if the combatants are committed enough, and these are, then it’s like playing “wack-a-mole”, trying to pin down exactly where your enemy is, at any given moment.

ISIS has no geographic loyalties, and even less thought of any roots to set down.    They go where the opportunities are, and where the people they target are the most vulnerable.

What they do control now is an area the size of a small to medium U.S. state, with a population of approximately 8 million people.

Sort of like trying to bomb away all the residents of Connecticut, or Maryland, but populated with people having a whole lot nastier attitude, and with much more perseverance.

Just not going to happen, …not unless we send significant troop numbers there.

And the “partners” he says that we have in that region, who exactly are these crack troops, at the ready, to “secure” these areas??

Why, …it’s the “re-constituted” Iraqi army, that’s who, …the ones who ran away from ISIS, at the drop of a hat, leaving all their weapons behind and in place (actually, OUR weapons –guns, tanks, munitions, rockets), for ISIS to just scoop up in a heartbeat.

Who else do we have, for those dirty ground war chores we hate so much??

Lucky for us, Mr. Bashar al-Assad, President of Syria, is still in his palace (probably still counting his hidden barrels of poison gas), and ready and waiting to help us.

And just as fortunately, happens that a bunch of “moderate” rebels and radicals, from around Assad’s countryside, are also more than willing to help out (this week, anyway).

Hey wait a minute, ….don’t we hate Assad??!!    And aren’t those rebels the ones who are fighting against him, right now ???

Yeah, yeah, …details.    But they both hate ISIS, and …“the enemy of my enemy is my friend”, and all like that.

Quite the coalition we got there, huh??    Built of long lasting friendships, loyalty, and shared values and customs.

Uh huh, and that bridge in Brooklyn is still for sale too, …cash, check, or charge, …all yours for the asking.

No, this isn’t a strategy, …it’s an itinerary.

One with convenient pauses and breaks built into it, for appropriate “R & R” (which means more golf), and re-considerations (which means more pursing and correcting of all of the Peacock’s gaffs and mistakes, many of which cost American lives).

But careful, …don’t try to speak out against this “plan”, not if you want to keep your good name, and your dignity.

Because surely, and quite plainly, any who dare dissent, …only expose themselves, as the Racists which they truly are.

Can’t you see that?    It’s just as plain and clear, …as the Peacock’s fine feathers.
