From the Other Side of the Edge….
Two Real World Leaders, …and One Failed President
By Joe Facinoli

An Indignant, Unafraid, and Valiant King reacts in the way any clear thinking, and righteous person would.

A Strong and Courageous Prime Minister steadfastly dedicates his life, and his country, to the fight against Evil.

While a Failed and Confused President continues to vacillate, placate, pontificate, …and then insults Christians and other world religions.

Captured by ISIS, during his fight against that most obscene and horrific group of “terror in the name of god” monsters, an heroic Jordanian pilot was burned alive in a cage recently, and the world reacted to this atrocity in various, and understandable ways.

With one notable, and as usual, …disappointing exception.

King Abdullah of Jordan, outraged and incensed by this unspeakable event, vowed to immediately “go get” the perpetrators, and to not only seek revenge, but to put an end to them entirely, …saying that his efforts would not cease until his country   “…ran out of fuel and bullets.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu quickly showed his nation’s support of their important ally, and then without hesitation immediately drew a parallel with another mortal enemy of his country, of his religious culture, and of humanity, …that being the shameful regime in Iran.

But the reaction of the person who should be the most important leader in this world, and at the forefront of any deserved response,…the President of the United States, …was not only disappointing, but almost appalling.

By its apathy and conciliation, by its unbelievable IN-action, and by its misunderstanding of history, …as well as by the seeming confusion and vapid inability to determine exactly what it should do next.

Barack Obama spent his usual amount of time and effort on this latest terrorist attack to our sensibilities.   Which was not any more than he was absolutely forced to do.

Two days after the difficult to watch video of the pilot’s slaying was released, Obama spoke at the annual National Prayer Breakfast, in Washington, DC.

He used his nauseating “professorial” style, to lecture all in attendance (including the Tibetan, Dalai Lama, whom he bowed to once again) about how we should be more understanding, and tolerant.

He went on a ramble about how religions shouldn’t tolerate dangerously divergent groups within them, but that no one should get on their “high horse” about reacting to religious terrorism, …because all major religions have done the same, at one time or another.

While he may have had a point, especially regarding the ridiculous battles between Christians and Islam, during “The Crusades”, which Professor Obama sited for us to consider, …this was not the time for a philosophical discussion on the pluses and minuses of any religion’s history.

This is right here, …and right now.     This is not about some long forgotten economic/religio/political war, fought centuries ago.

This is about the world’s security, about whatever liberty is left in it, and about the future of civilization.

But he babbled on.

Telling us that he was going to “redouble our vigilance and determination”, in our efforts to degrade and destroy this persistent bunch of bad guys (which is all he sees them as).

Let’s see, if memory serves, …from my extensive mathematical background, and if 8th grade algebra still holds up, from the stone ages when I took it, …it seems to me that any number (2, or otherwise), when multiplied by zero, will always equal (…uh,…carry the 5, extend to long division, counting “x” as pie) ….that’s right:    ZERO !!!

If we ain’t doin’ nothin’ now (at least not that one could notice), then “redoubling” that nothing, …equals NOTHING !!

Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman said it best, in his own reaction to the Jordanian’s pilot’s gruesome death, while also sending a pointed message to DC, to our hapless President, …and all of the U.S.

He said, sounding a bit Churchillian:   “Terror cannot be defeated by words and declarations, …but rather by harsh actions.”

Thank you sir.

Stating the very obvious, at just the time when we needed that slap in the face, never seemed so right.

King Abdullah, upon hearing of his countryman’s awful demise, quoted lines from Clint Eastwood’s terrific movie “Unforgiven”, saying that ISIS will be sent “devastation like they have never seen.”

For those familiar with that Oscar winning movie (so very dark, but still one of my favorites), you will remember that when the time came for Clint’s character to take his revenge, for the sad and random killing of his good friend, and of other associates,  ….He left no one standing.

What did our President do?

What did our fearless Leader, our duly elected (twice, …incredibly) Commander-In-Chief of the most powerful military on the planet (and in all history), do in response to an action akin only to those of Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, and Idi Amin, and other really “bad guys” of history??

He furrowed his brow, and wrung his hands, and asked the big bully to stop picking on his nice friends, ….and then started planning his next 17 day vacation and golf outing.

He told us all not to be so hypocritical about someone else’s religious “extremists”, because we should be looking in the mirror and questioning our own past sins, …first.

Really???

How much longer do we have with this guy?    And can our country, …and the world, …withstand his ineptitude and weak-kneed non-understanding of how his “job” is actually supposed to be done, …for that long ???

Here’s hoping.

But in the meantime, …Go Get ‘Em King Abdullah, …and Hang In There Bibi, and all of Israel.

Despite that Know-Nothing, Do-Nothing who takes up otherwise good space in our White House, …the “Good Guys” of the world are with you.

Safe Passage, …Good Hunting, …and,  …LIGHT ‘EM UP !!!
