From the Other Side of the Edge…..
Impetuous Libs See the World as very Small, …Only It Isn’t
By Joe Facinoli

Liberals want to live in a very small, micro-managed, everything should feel good and be just right for everyone, me-oriented, myopic world, …which they go about re-inventing every day, to suit whatever personal issue, or changing wind, works best for them at a given moment.

Sorry, …but in the real world, …it just ain’t like that.

They always side with the poorest, most down-trodden case or situation they can find, which should be a good thing, …but are immediately ready to throw an entire, much larger and well-off (in their minds) group over the side of the bridge, …just to rectify it, or right this perceived wrong.

They never see a “big picture”, ever, …always taking the short term fix, and small-minded view, for every situation.

If even one person is harmed, or their life made somehow more difficult, or even less convenient, …by another individual, or by a business, or even by some otherwise sacred government program, …then that is an unpardonable sin of the highest order, and simply MUST be remedied, …and immediately !!

Everyone feels for an “underdog”, and no one likes to see anyone have their status taken advantage of, in any situation.

But the world moves faster, and bigger, than individuals, and things and issues which benefit the larger group, or masses, must be considered first.

“Majority rules” is not always correct, nor even fair, …but it simply has to be the starting point for any consideration, …or conversation.

And using an “8-crayon box”, to color (or solve) “64-crayon” issues, …just doesn’t work, in this all too real, often ambiguous, and sometimes ugly world in which we move about, every day.

The important, delicate details, which should be necessary in so many of the Liberals’ broad based (or “broad brushed”) solutions, are quickly lost or pushed aside in favor of the more glamorous, temporary fixes, …which always garner more publicity (and votes).

They simply ignore the reality that their “cures”, …often cause much bigger, and more dangerous diseases.

Under-use of immigration laws, over-use and abuse of taxes, the deplorable and regressive distribution of welfare handouts and social security, bogus economic growth and tactics, government over-involvement in education systems, “affordable” healthcare for all (only it isn’t), and the wonders of socialism vs. the evils of capitalism.    And don’t forget the 2nd Amendment.

All are subjects of discussion much too complex to be settled by a quick waving of a hand (or the stroke of a pen).

And the favorite topic of these self-proclaimed, social-minded “Progressives” (a name which defines “irony”, …and duplicity), is:   Income Inequality.

This one typifies all of the other social, economic, and political issues of the day.

When examined closely, it shows that, like those others, very often it is necessary to allow things which seem to be inequities (and to let them to flourish), so that the greater good is served.

In prior generations, all the way back, it was the difficult things, the problems of everyday life, and the struggles against them, which made the people stronger for having endured.

And it motivated them, even inspired them.    To do good and important things, even great things, which bettered their own plight, and quite often that of many thousands of others.

Not the case today.

If someone has a problem, or some kind of difficulty, …well, …it just has to be someone else’s fault, and they just shouldn’t have to put up with this (muchless work harder to overcome it), and they quickly go to one of two places, for their much “deserved” relief:

….Lawyers and Government.

If someone has an issue, even if they created it, or did something to put themselves in a bad place, …or didn’t do something, which could have taken them away from this same undesired situation, …well, …then, couldn’t possibly be any fault of their own, no way, …and it’s their “Divine Right” to have it corrected !

1-800-Call-a-Lawyer-Now-(No-Fee-If-We-Don’t-Win), …comes to mind here.

Problem is, in all the areas mentioned above, and in so many more, neither lawyers nor government, are designed to solve such issues.    Not well, anyway.

Never have been, …and never should be.

It’s the people, and only the people, …and not governments nor the disreputable institutions which have sprung up around them, …who should make these decisions, about any and all injustices and inequities.

And if they can’t be decided, fairly and equitably, for the majority, then the courts, in their purest forms (and not the ones of today, who legislate from the bench, to suit their own political bents), should be there to settle things.

But Liberals can’t see this, …nor stomach anything remotely close to it.

They don’t understand, that if you fix one small issue, specific to one person, or a very small group of similar people, then very likely, by the nature of a society, bigger and more complex problems are created for the larger group, …from the smaller solution.

It’s really almost about arithmetic, but then we’re back talking about the “government’s” education system again.

In a Liberal’s small world, there can never be any racism, nor social injustice, ...by anyone’s definition, regardless of any circumstances.

There can be no rich people, nor any poor folks, …and never anyone unemployed.    No undeserved mansions nor limousines, …and no fat-cat corporate owners.

No one under-educated, nor under-trained, …no one ever sick, …and no one ever unfairly treated, in any sort of way.

This would all be happening, …if we lived in Camelot, or Shangri-La, or Never-Never Land.    But we don’t.    We can only do the best we can.

Fairly or unfairly, we live in the real world.    Bad things happen, sometimes to good people.    And we can only fix so much of that.

We have to compromise, and share the weight.   Some people will share more of that weight, and burden, than others.    And some will reap more of the benefits, which are handed out.

But ALL should participate (unlike today).

It’s just the way of life, …real life.     Doesn’t mean we should stop trying, though, …to make it better, and for as many as possible.

We cannot expect each and every wrong to be changed, especially at the moment it’s first encountered, nor in the exact way some one individual may want it to be, …that's just not reality.

Socialism, in any mass form, simply does not work.    History has proven that, many times over.

It does not work, because it removes all incentive, …and plays to all the bad parts of a society, and of individual personalities.

It takes from the productive, hard-working, and creative, …and gives the fruits of their labors to those who produce little, or often nothing, and who are content to do so.

Liberals want to change everything they see, to the way they think it should be, …even if it happens to be working pretty well, or in the best way possible, at that time.

They see a small, very specific little world, …with sunshine, and blue skies for everyone, …and rose petals everywhere.

Reality is a bit more gray, and it rains sometimes.    And sometimes, winters are harsh.

But when nurtured over time, the grass still grows, …and the flowers and leaves come back every spring, …and in even brighter colors, for the effort.

Keep the Faith.
