Fun at the Great Darke County Fair
By Bob Robinson

The 160th Great Darke County Fair is now in the history books. I hope all of you enjoyed it as much as I did. I’m slowing down this year… only made it seven out of the nine days, but I covered a lot of ground, I think.

I saw a lot of “my” kids from Greenville Schools and Edison State… kids I worked with years ago and kids I worked with last year, as well as old friends and new. I got to see a special young lady, Jordan, and her fiancé, Keith. Jor was my Teen Editor at The Daily Advocate longer ago than I like to remember. I also saw another young lady I worked with, Tiffany, one of my Teen Advocates and a stalwart supporter and helper when I ran for Commissioner in 2008.

It was great seeing everyone; that’s one of the things our fair is for. Right?

Recently posted on the Community Events Photo Gallery were my “Fun at the Fair” photos, sets one and two. Adults and kids just having a good time. Prior to that were my Poultry and Livestock photos, sets one and two. These kids worked hard on their projects. Some got ribbons and trophies, some didn’t, but they all learned and will use their new knowledge to improve next year.

One recent set of photos is a series from the Tractor and Truck Pulls by CNO Reporter Photographer Dylan Knoop. Coming soon will be the Varsity Cheer photos from CNO Sports Editor George Starks.

While you’re at it, the following are worth another look:

Little Mr. and Miss Darke County Fair from Elaine Bailey
A variety of cheer photos – Pee Wee and Junior High – from George and me, as well as my Varsity Cheer set. My pics include a lot of human interest photos you might enjoy.

Check them out. They are CNO memories of this year’s Great Darke County Fair.
