“The Donald”
By Truman Bashore

I watched the interview with Donald Trump on 60 Minutes Sunday with amusement.  The interview came from his three floor apartment at the Trump Tower.  It was difficult following his interview because he spoke from his gold laced chair.  The brightness was blinding.

This is a man who wants to make “America Great Again” and doesn’t have the decency to do an interview in a more modest fashion though not surprising since his ego shines nearly as bright as his gold!  He is an affront to the middle and low income people.  His attitude was more like “Let them eat cake!”

He is very fortunate to have had a father who bequeathed him a millions of dollars.  That he has made the most of his inheritance there is no doubt.  From his “gilded cage” he rambled on how he was going to make “America Great” but gave no details as to how to accomplish his lofty goal.

Hillary Clinton has called him a “a dangerous” man because he lacks the tact to deal with world leaders.  He has no qualms about using nuclear weapons to go after ISIS, but he literally doesn’t acknowledge “the fall out” this would cause.  In essence, he is willing to bring about a nuclear holocaust to get his own way.

He has no regard for diplomacy having little or no regard for working with other countries.  In a sense he is bully who will bulldoze his way over others with no regard or respect for the customs and beliefs of others.

I am so proud of Governor Kasich for refusing to participate in the circus/convention going on in Cleveland.  Our governor has wiped out the debt left by the previous administration, balanced the budget, and as result we actually have a surplus!

With all of this said, America can do better and the thought of a Trump administration is discomfiting.
